Raw Rice Sushi


Raw rice sushi

This is a great treat for all sushi lovers! Treat yourself with a bloomed rice raw sushi alternative! Shopping list:

  • 2 cups wild rice

  • pack of raw nori sheets

  • 1 large cucumber

  • 2 avocados

  • 2 medium carrots

  • 1 red bell pepper

  • lentil sprouts

Raw mayo:

  • 1/2 cup cashew nuts

  • 1 garlic clove

  • 1 tsp mustard powder

  • 1 lemon juiced

Keep in mind that blooming rice takes time and patience. Here’s how it’s done: Clean the rice by rinsing and draining then pour your clean rice into a container and add water to cover, filling up to about 3-6 cm above the rice level. Leave the rice to soak overnight. Drain the water, rinse the rice and refill the container once a day until sprouted which usually takes two to four days.

When rice is ready, rinse it and you’re ready to go! Blend all your mayo ingredients, add a bit water if needed. Fill your nori sheets with veg strips, rice, mayo and sprouts, roll and cut into smaller rolls. Optional, sprinkle with sesame seeds and tamari. Enjoy!
